French Country style emerged from small villages in southern France. The accessories, patterns, colors of nature came from the region of Provence. Colors are pulled directly from the landscape:sages, lavenders, sky blues, peony pink and sunny yellow. French Country marries European elegance with rustic country striking the perfect balance of comfort and charm. The warmth of French beauty fits into elegant homes and country houses adding old world sensibility with an edge of sophistication.

French Country With a Western Flair

French Country can incorporate a blend of styles. We went to a family wedding in West Texas and enjoyed seeing the western flair in homes. The fringed lamp makes you want to grab a book and read by the light. The use of aqua is a wonderful accent to blend comfortable chairs for conversational seating.

The round coffee table unifies the space.

The cozy bench under the window with a soft pillow provides more seating.

A trip to antique shops shows a French country chair with vintage cain backing.

This Victorian sofa covered with white leather brings warmth with two lamps glowing.

Wish I had room to take home this wonderful chair with an ornate wooden backing.

Since we were in Texas the western horns made a statement.
