Place Settings

Pier One had a wonderful display of place settings to choose from.   I love butterflies so this appealed to me.  I'm using the plates for everyday.

I experimented with different colors of napkins.  I found these place mats at Dillards.  I liked the colors with Comfort Gray in the dining room.

Peacock Colors swirl together with shades of turquoise and green.  I put a little splash of silver for sparkle.  Mix and matching plates is fun. 

Bedroom Decorating

I took a recent trip to Macy's to purchase new bedding on sale.  I was amazed with the choices.  I liked the butterflies against the backdrop of turquoise.

Shades of cinnamon, mocha, butterscotch, against silk fabric.

Fresh sheets, ready to wrap you with sleep.

Blue ginger jars with colors of red against a sea of blue.

I chose this one.  It was half price and came with an assortment of matching pillows.  It was designed by Martha Stewart.  I love it.  

Pets Add Warmth to a Home

Our homes bring warmth and comfort to us.  Favorite fabrics, a familiar chair, an oil painting with soothing colors,  knickknacks from vacations, cozy blankets and soft purring cats.   We just added an addition to our family, Peaches.  The five year old apricot Tabby snuggles up to us on the blue gray couch.  If I'm sitting in our living room she follows me.  Sometimes she lays on top of the opposite couch to say I'm pretty, I belong.

I think our french chair with toil fabric looks better with Peaches resting on top.  I've always wanted an apricot tabby.  The color goes nicely with blue.  Her fur seems warm to me, like a cozy fire.  We are so glad she has blended with our family.  Operation Kindness is a great way to find a forever home for a cat.
