Waxahachie Home Tour

Each year the town of Waxahachie opens their homes to raise funds.   Let me share some of the treasures.  The first home we discovered was rich in history.

Wise Collard Home  In 1879 Edwin Wise moved his wife and three children into their new home.  At that time there were three bedrooms upstairs and two rooms down with porches on all sides.  The kitchen was detached because it was hot.

The Wise family grew to nine children.  The boys enjoyed sleeping on the porches but the six sisters slumbered in the bedrooms.
The owner bought the Wise family home in 2000.  It had never been owned by another family.  An old piano was found in the barn.

The living room was warm with antiques.  The piano was restored and part of the landscape. The oriental rug brought all the colors together.

The dining room fixture was made in Egypt.  The crystals bounced off the walls to show light.

The family room was cozy with a stone fireplace to keep you warm.  A view of the Texas Landscape was in the view.

The kitchen was equipped with cabinets to hold dishes for all occasions.

Lights lit the trees to say this is a warm home ready to embrace new visitors.
